Got an apartment, it was gross but now has internet, got hired at home depot and 2 weeks left in school.

Well hey all, I'm finally connected to the internet here at my apartment.  It's a 6 megabyte bandwidth...stinking fast.  I click and it's loaded.  But anyways...for those of you who don't know I moved into my apartment here in Golden Colorado over Easter weekend.  I've been adjusting and cleaning since.  Being in the air force I love things really clean.  It took me pretty much all week of on and off work to get this place to the point i wanted it.  I still have to patch the walls and paint in places before i'm entirely happy.  When I moved in...the old tenant was a 40 year old divorced male who didn't clean anything...ever.  So, needless to say, the carpets were gross...the bath was disgusting...the kitchen greasy.  Just nasty.  Nicole and I spent 5 hours cleaning sunday night before I could even sleep in here.  But now, the whole place has been disinfected and cleaned...with the emphasis on disinfected.

I didn't have any furniture when I moved in, but I mentioned the fact that I needed furniture to some people in the church and they were totally willing to give me some stuff...awesome.  I now have a queen size bed, dresser with mirror, two coffee tables, lamps, a couch, a lazyboy recliner, a kitchen table, microwave, end tables, and kitchen chairs.  Such an amazing blessing...that's probably $1000 in free stuff.  Oh yeah, I have a really sweet old school vacuum too.  It'll suck up anything.

So I started at home depot last monday night.  I'm in the overnight receiving department.  I basically take stuff off of the trucks and put it out on the floor for the stockers to put on the shelves.  It's actually quite fun using forklifts.  Home depot is actually a totally cool employer.  They really set you up for advancement.  I could actually see myself managing a store in a few years.  It would be sweet.

There are less than two weeks left in school here thankfully.  It totally sucks.  That's all I can say.  I'm looking into Denver University again because this school's music program really bites.  I am still debating about going to school next semester.  It would be nice just to have the time off and make some money.  If you guys have any ideas let me know.

Anyways, I'll find a way to get my pictures posted and the video that I've taken.  probably not on here but I'll post a link to my site when I get it.

That's it for now...

Hello again,

To go with tradition: Made some money, went home to honor wendi and lead my first sunday at the lutheran church.

I've spent a lot of time working at the lutheran church since i last updated.  It's been great because I've been making money.  I should be getting my first check from them tomorrow.  Hopefully it'll be enough with the methodist church check i get today for my down payment on my apartment.  I still have to do some looking but I know that I need to have an apartment by the end of the month.  I don't really have a choice in that matter.  I don't want to live here and I need a place to stay so there you go.  I start at Home depot officially tomorrow.  With my drug test of all things.  I don't know when they start paying me but that'll hopefully be soon as well.  I'm a shipping and receiving guy.  I bring stuff in from the trucks and lay it out on the floor so that the stockers can stock the shelves.  Pretty chill job for as much as I'm starting at.  I love it.

Well, most of you who look at this know Wendi so I won't say too much.  I found out on wednesday that one of my friends from my high school small group died this past tuesday.  So, needless to say I wouldn't have felt right if I didn't go home for services.  So, I left EARLY thursday morning and flew home.  It was an all together great time.  I got to spend time with so many great people and remembered a wonderful person.

This morning was my first sunday leading worship at the lutheran church here in lakewood.  It went pretty stinking well.  The songs were still crappy but at least i made the band sound good.  I definitely need them to pay me, which is hopefully tomorrow. But I don't know.  Just cool.

Well if anyone reading this knows people in colorado that want to donate furniture for me and my apartment let me know.  I need stuff so anything you got send my way.  lol thanks!

peaceazy

Hey all,

Well, since I wrote last a lot of stuff has happened.  To go about my usual format one sentence here we go:  I left for choir tour with a broken heart because Nicole broke up with me that morning but it's okay because i've had time to get over that a bit by keeping busy with my new job and getting my truck fixed.  that should cover it.

Now to elaborate...

For those of you who hadn't heard about Nicole's and my break up, I'm sorry but for a period of a week, I just didn't really want to talk about it.  But Choir Tour helped me realize that I've got a lot of other things to focus on right now instead of a girl.  It seemed like the break up was out of the blue to me, but it's still okay because I'm actually doing great right now.  I've spent a lot of time in prayer for God to lead me where He wants me.  And He's made it very evident that He wants me to focus on my music, my job and just getting into Him more.  Not to say that Nicole burdened me when it came to that, I just allowed myself to get caught up in that relationship more than was healthy for either of us.

So, Choir Tour...obviously I didn't enjoy a whole lot of it because I spent most of the time wondering what happened between Nicole and I.  But I had a chance to go home...yes all of you from Roscoe (minus Hannah and Matt) missed me...grr...and talked with my family and get away from the tour for a day.  That was really nice. I spent a lot time talking with them about where I'm at and took a lot of advice from my parents, brother and the newest addition...my sister (Jason and Amber for those of you who don't know got married New Year's Eve).  It's weird saying that...but it's really nice to have a sister in the family...they give you insight you wouldn't get otherwise...plus she's just awesome! So, with the help of them, and Matt (such a great guy...if I were gay I'd date you) sounds weird...but don't take it the wrong way...I spent the rest of trip trying to have fun.  Although by that point I had spent 5 days with 54 people on a tour bus.  Quite a tasking trip.  But, I went into Chicago and went to an Improv club called Improv Olympic...pretty raunchy but still hilarious.  By that time I was ready to be done with tour.

So two days later we pulled into Colorado and I was here all by myself thank goodness.  I spent the next day working on getting my truck fixed.  It got fixed thanks to steph who took me around to get everything taken care of.  Then went to get my driver's license so I can finally open my bank account.  It stinks that it takes forever to get it in the mail...Illinois gives it to you that day.  So, I'm still waiting to open my account.  Oh well.

Lastly, the new job.  Well it's not really new but I've not been doing official work until this week.  I'm now the Director of Contemporary Worship at Atonement Lutheran Church here in Lakewood.  It's pretty sweet...I have my own office.  I start leading practices this next tuesday and I've had interviews for the praise band all this week.  It's been a lot of work but it needed to be done and has been fun overall.  I've also spent about 6 hours going through their worship archives picking out things that we can still do and things we can't.  I'm only through the H's after all that work and I've found maybe 20 songs that we can keep doing...So, needless to say the service has a lot of catching up to do before it's really a contemporary worship service.

That's the latest and greatest from my life.  Hope you enjoyed it.  I know I am.  Financial stability is a wonderful thing.

Peaceasy, all

Josh

Hey all, just a quick prayer request and then i'll get to what's going on.  Wisdom in relationships.  We all need it.

So, I started this new thing this week.  Guess what it is?  Working out, reading the bible?  Well reading the bible isn't really a new thing for me, and working out is something i really need to get back into.  So, I started doing a nightly, "walk with God."  Basically it consists of me going off by myself for an hour, walking 5 miles or so and listening to worship music.  I started this sunday night after I got back from church and realized that nicole didn't want to talk.  I was feeling kinda bummed so I loaded some worship songs on my iTunes phone and headed out.  Some people say that they feel closest to God out in nature.  While I was just walking the streets of lakewood, I can imagine what they are talking about.  There was a nice, gentle snowfall and even though it was almost midnight, the lights from the city lit up the clouds in the sky to the point where you can see almost as well as dusk.  I was bundled up in my new ski jacket and gloves and beanie(for some reason people from ohio call it a tobaggon) isn't that a sled?  Anyways.  I can say that it was one of my best relaxation times that I've had since I came out to Colorado, if not ever.  So, I decided to make it a nightly ritual.  Since it's too cold to go running...I'm walking.  I sound like a girl, but you know...walking's good exercise either way.  I went out last night too and it was just as amazing, not because of snow.  But because of the moon and the stars.  It was totally clear last night.  I could see everything.  Just nice.  That's all I can say.

Worship this sunday was awesome.  Definitely the best we've ever done.  We have some new sound equipment now.  Even though the board is completely cheap it worked.  And we got a volunteer for a female vocalist.  I'm not gonna be there this sunday due to choir tour...we leave tonight.  So, she's gonna start next week.  I'm gradually filling out the praise band.  but it takes time especially when you're just starting out.  If you'll pray for the expansion of that too i would be very grateful.  anyways...that's just a bit of what's going on.  If you have anything you want me to pray about...let me know.  I'm always looking for new things to converse with the almighty.  taker easy everyone

Josh
